Remove the clingfilm/dressing after 2-6 hours
Get in a hot bath (as hot as possible) and soak the tattoo for 20 minutes. It will feel slimy at first but gently wash the tattoo with a mild non-perfumed soap so that it no longer feels slimy but feels like skin again!
Do not have a bath for the next 2 weeks - stick to showers.
Let the tattoo dry in the fresh air for a few minutes or alternatively dry by pressing a soft, clean towel gently against the tattoo.
Spread over a thin layer of Bepanthen nappy rash cream, recover with clingfilm and tape it securely in place.
Repeat this process for the first 2-4 days, changing the dressing twice a day.
Protect your tattoo against the direct sunlight for 6 weeks.
After that you will have to use a sunblock up to 50SPF every time you expose your tattoo to direct sunlight (if you go to the beach you must apply every 2 hours).
In the case of artificial tanning, cover the tattoo with a towel, or use a high factor sun-block.
Do not use a sauna or go swimming in the sea or a swimming pool until the tattoo has completely healed. This process will take about 6 weeks.
Ensure your tattoo is cleaned properly every day and that your hands are properly washed before you apply the cream to your tattoo.
It is advisable to use Bepanthen for the first 2 weeks only. After that we advise using lotions containing vitamin E.
